Why go?
It’s hard to find a more spectacular setting for a Grand Prix than Yas Island, on the eastern side of Abu Dhabi.  You can immerse yourself in opulent grandeur in the many 5-star hotels and the 5.55-kilometer (3.45-mile) Yas Marina Circuit provides a suitably glamorous venue for the culmination of the Formula One World Championship as cars speed alongside the island’s spectacular marina and under the futuristic Yas Hotel Abu Dhabi.

Closest airports to Yas Marina
Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH): located around 30km from the city centre and just 10km from Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi Airport is the logical place to fly into for the Grand Prix this November.

Dubai International Airport (DXB): don’t discount flying into Dubai, just 120km from the centre of Abu Dhabi and 95km from Yas Marina.

How to get to Yas Marina Circuit
Yas Island is inundated with taxis on race weekend. A trip from the centre of Abu Dhabi to Yas Island is inexpensive and can take you directly to the entrance gate in the morning. Free shuttle buses ferry racegoers out of the Marina and to nearby car parks full of taxis after the event.

A free park and ride shuttle service runs for those coming into Abu Dhabi for the race, too. Just show your race ticket to hop on.

Several hotels operate their own complimentary shuttle service for guests visiting the Grand Prix.

Outside the F1

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: One of the world’s largest and most spectacular mosques, a celebration of all the great Islamic empires in pure white marble and futuristic 21st century design.

Ferrari World: Experience the most thrilling theme park in the world!

Observation Deck at 300: For staggering views across the city head for the 74th floor of Tower 2 at the Etihad Towers Complex, the city’s tallest structure at 300 metres.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi: Even dedicated Formula 1 fans would be doing themselves a great disservice if they didn’t add a couple of extra days to their itinerary to experience the delights of Abu Dhabi. Culture vultures can immerse themselves in art in an array of museums including the Louvre Abu Dhabi opened in 2017, with its iconic hole-punched dome and cool galleries.

Helicopter Tour: For a suitably glitzy way to mark the beginning or end of your F1 trip, why not take a helicopter trip over the city? Cover views of the Emirates Palace, the Corniche, Ferrari World and all the F1 action down on Yas Island.

Desert Safari: For those chasing an adrenaline buzz, take a sunset trip out to the desert in a 4×4 for a roller-coaster ride over sand dunes. Excursions are led by experienced dune drivers and end with dinner and dancing in the desert.

Shopping: Away from the shopping malls featuring international designers, visit the souqs at Mina Port for handwoven rugs and delicious treats such as dates and traditional sweets.

Emirates National Auto Museum: This one is an absolute must for any car fanatic. This public collection of over 200 cars belongs to HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, an incurable petrolhead known as the ‘Rainbow Sheikh’.
