Champagne of the Month – April 2019

Cuvée Sensorium, with the world’s first Champagne bottle exclusively in porcelain.

At the end of last year Cuvée Sensorium launched in Paris the very first Methuselah Champagne bottle made out of porcelain.

The entire Champagne tradition and all the refinement it stands for has always relied on bottles made of glass. This seemingly necessary symbiosis has been unchanged for more than 200 years. Now, for the first time in history, the idea of creating Champagne is met by a fresh inspiration – an innovation which in itself is worshipping old traditions and myths.

A wide array of skills and unparalleled expertise is required to make each handmade bottle a unique work of art. The bottles follow a contemporary design consisting of a pure, brilliant white enhanced with minimalist decoration made of 24 carat gold, magnifying the brand name and its symbol, the compass rose.

The Champagne is produced by the Edouard Brun Champagne House, a family estate dating back to 1898. Cuvée Sensorium - Brut Premier Cru is a symphony of carefully selected plots of vineyards exclusively premier cru from the prestigious terroir of Montagne de Reims with a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay.

Enjoy Cuvée Sensorium at Amber Lounge Monaco, May 24-26

Cuvée Sensorium CEO Philippe Bienvenu says:

F1 and champagne are inseparable…

It’s important to us that champagne enthusiasts can enjoy our champagne and experience it up close. This opportunity is perfect for the different moments of the Amber Lounge. Monaco is also a fantastic international place synonymous with glamour and luxury, two core values which perfectly embody Cuvée Sensorium.

Amber Lounge Monaco guests can expect…

They can expect the unexpected by discovering a world premiere and unique creation with the one and only champagne in a porcelain bottle.

The idea for porcelain bottles took four years to come to fruition…

It is a true innovation in the champagne market. 100% handmade.

We collaborated with artist James Rizzi…

Two other co-operations have already been agreed and are in the process of implementation. You may be curious ...

Our favourite champagne cocktail?...

We preferably drink our champagne pure, it is just too good to be mixed with other ingredients.

Bahrain GP – The Epic Battles Continue

Starting from his very first pole position in Formula 1, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc led almost the entire race before victory was snatched from him in the final laps. A sudden loss of power with 10 laps to go saw him drop from first place, although he managed to hold on to third. It’s fair to say it was a bittersweet end to the Bahrain GP for the 21-year-old Monegasque, achieving his first F1 podium and earning the respect of his fellow drivers.

Lewis Hamilton said:

He’s got lots more wins coming in the future. Charles your future is very bright.

Leclerc also claimed 1 point for fastest lap and became the 6thyoungest driver in history to stand on an F1 podium. His Ferrari team mate Sebastian Vettel, who was also in the running for a podium finish, spun while battling Hamilton, resulting in him fighting for 4thposition with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.

Lewis Hamilton went on to win his 3rdBahrain Grand Prix with Mercedes team mate Valtteri Bottas right behind him. In fact, there were many team mate battles throughout the Bahrain GP, namely between Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault.

Since Monacois particularly small, it is possible to reach every place in a short time by foot, although it’s tricky with all the road closures when the circuit is closed. During Monaco Grand Prix weekend, some roads are blocked and there is a lot of traffic.

By Helicopter or Private Jet

You can pre-book transfers with who can arrange our trusted official private jet partner, GlobeAir, to take you from Nice airport to Monaco Heliport and back.

By Luxury Car

By far the easiest and most relaxing way to get around is by chauffer. This takes all the stress away from getting to and from the track each day. Amber Lounge Hospitality can arrange this for you.

By Taxi

Taxis can take you from any part of the city, close to the circuit but the traffic is usually heavy. If you’re coming from Nice or Menton, the journey time is 40 to 60 minutes approximately depending on traffic and the time of day you travel.

By Train

Trains run regularly to Gare de Monaco (Monte Carlo Station), taking approximately 25 minutes from Nice. The circuit is only a few minutes’ walk from the station but note there can be train strikes during the week.

By Bus

Bus 100 is a cost-efficient way of travelling to the circuit from Nice. It departs from Nice, via Monaco, terminating in Menton (and vice versa). The bus runs every 15 minutes and takes about 50 minutes however this time can increase considerably over Monaco Grand Prix weekend.

F1 Drivers To Be Suited By Award Winning Designer Christopher Bates

Contemporary Canadian menswear designer Christopher Bates has been selected to dress the Formula 1 drivers as they strut the catwalk for the 12th Amber Lounge Monaco Charity Fashion Show, Friday May 24th. International Women’s Day Inspiration: The Amber Lounge Team Says…

March 8th marks International Women’s Day around the globe, the day where we recognise women’s achievement and equality.

With the Amber Lounge office brimming with strong, inspirational women, we thought we’d share some words of wisdom to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Let’s start with Amber Lounge’s CEO and Founder, Sonia Irvine:

As a successful business woman… Perhaps the most challenging aspect of being a business woman is to be able to combine the life of being a mother and running a successful company. I think that’s what makes things harder being a woman is that often you tend to feel more responsible on the family side of things. You’re trying to run your business at an extremely high level and then trying to be the best mum that you can be. I believe I’m a very stimulating mum for my kids and a very good role model.

Working in the male dominated world of Formula 1… I don’t think there really are any challenges. There’s no difference being a man or a woman in Formula 1. I’ve always tried to approach it with a positive head and turn it around to my advantage. I don’t go in there thinking ‘oh God I’m a woman’, I just think I’ve got to do my job. In the world of Formula 1 everything has to be to perfection, the garage, the cars, the hospitality, and that’s how I’ve approached Amber Lounge. I’ve always had the mind-set that I can do whatever I put my mind to, so if I want to do something I never think of why I can’t do it I always just think, ‘oh that’s a good idea’ and I go out and do it.

To build a multi-million Euro business… Believe in yourself! It’s a lot of hard work at times juggling family and work. So, work hard, it’s only you who can make things happen.

My advice for other business women?... The world is as exciting as you make it. We are only here once, so let’s make that once as amazing as it can be for ourselves and for everyone we encounter.

Being resilient... I think that’s where a woman’s attributes really help because I never give up and I’ve had one blow after another, after another. We do tend to keep picking ourselves up and keep going onto the next thing.

Balancing work life and personal life… My home is my sanctuary. I love to come back home and enjoy the family time my children. My kids are my source of relaxation. I love playing sports, games, going on bike rides with them, it’s important to keep your professional and personal life in balance if you want to succeed in juggling them both.

The best decisions of my life?... To have children and to create Amber Lounge.

Leaving an impression on Formula 1… I’ve loved motorsport for as long as I can remember. Now having forged my own path in the industry, through Amber Lounge, bringing glamour, excitement and the VIP edge to Grands Prix for over 16 years, I feel I’ve made my mark.

The Women of Amber Lounge Say…

Liana, Office Manager:

A successful business woman is someone who’s confident, trusts her instincts and manages to achieve her goals, and if this includes PASSION that is simply NIRVANA! My advice to others, no gender specific here, is work hard, challenge and educate yourself constantly, learn to appreciate good feedback, learn to take a negative one (what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger) and ultimately treat people well.

Giorgia, Hospitality Consultant:

I am helping to break the glass ceiling in business for generations to come and help break the stereotypical opinions of women in the workplace. My advice would be things are tough and challenging but the end result makes it all worth it so keep going and persevere with whatever you are thrown into.

Jana, Sales Manager:

For me being successful means being strong, independent, believing in yourself, and at the same time staying feminine and human in your nature. Advice: to believe in yourself, never give up and listen to your intuition and heart.

Marissa, Sponsorship Consultant:

In order to be a successful woman in business I believe you need to be strong, passionate, and driven. I would tell other women to believe in yourself continuously and work hard in order to thrive in the workplace

Lauren, Sales Manager:

It’s all about having the right mindset. You have to be strong-willed, committed and have a positive attitude. If you believe in yourself, enjoy the opportunities that arise and continuously challenge yourself, then you will naturally rise to the top.

Jehanne, Sales Manager:
