Re-Cap: Bahrain Grand Prix 2016

The Bahrain Grand Prix is the second stop of the Formula One season and it took place last weekend at Bahrain’s Sakhir Track. This is Bahrain’s third night race but in case you missed it here’s what happened:

  • Nico Rosberg had an easy first win at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Although his victory was well deserved, the problems that afflicted all three of his main rivals helped him finish first clearing the competition by 10 seconds. The Mercedes driver got off to a great start this season as he earned his title by triumphing at the Australian Grand Prix in March. Rosberg has won the last 5 Grand Prix awarding him a 17- point title lead over fellow teammate - Hamilton and making his career total an astonishing 16 wins!
  • Lewis Hamilton was unable to secure his third win at the Sakhir Track. Hamilton had a slow start and a clash with Williams’ Valterri Bottas at Turn One, causing him to drop to seventh place. Fortunately, Hamilton recovered well from the collision but was unable to catch up with Ferrari’s Raikkonen who finished in second place. Eventually Hamilton fought to finish in third.
  • Stoffel Vandoorne made his F1 debut for McLaren and finish solidly in 10th Vandoorne, who had out qualified teammate Jenson Button, was substituting for Fernando Alonso - the most successful driver in Bahrain Grand Prix history. Alonso was barred from racing in the Bahrain Grand Prix after suffering rib fractures and a partially collapsed lung in his 180 mph crash during Australia’s season opener. Many are praising Vandoorne for his remarkable F1 debut although he remains humble stating that he “maximized the opportunity [and is] quite satisfied” with the results.

Hayo Sol will auction at Amber Lounge Fashion in benefit of a charitable cause

Hayo Sol whose fantastic work was auctioned last year at Fashion Show, is very kindly again donating a new unique piece for this year’s auction. It will be a portrait of HSH Princesse Grace of Monaco, of approx. 180 cm height and in his truly beautiful style. We cannot wait to showcase it on Friday 27th of May at Amber Lounge Monaco Fashion Show and Charity Auction, which will be located at the stunning Le Meridien Beach Plaza venue, on the swimming pool area, offering a wonderful view on the Mediterranean Sea.

Dutch PopArt artist Hayo Sol is worldwide renowned for his beautiful PopArt paintings and designs that are carefully crafted with airbrush technique, metal and acrylic paint and original Swarovski crystals.

These materials combined with his incredible talent turn each piece into a 3 dimensional painting that comes to live when light illuminates the canvas.

Based on the origin that all life on earth needs sunlight to come to life and survive, this principle was translated by SOL (who's last name is spanish for 'Sun") into PopArt that is truly original again and has taken the art-world by a storm, ever since Warhol and Liechtenstein set the bar.

As an artist HAYO, who is called" The Vincent van Gogh of PopArt", is inspired by the immortal beauty of movie legends and icons of style and in his work he takes their beauty to a new and higher level in order to let us experience his art with the most intense impact possible.

Monte-Carlo Rose Ball

This Saturday the Monte-Carlo elite will unite in honor of the 62nd annual Rose Ball, one of the most anticipated balls on the social calendar in Monaco.

The internationally recognized charity event was founded by Grace Kelly in 1954 and is currently presided by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and HRH Princess Caroline of Hanover. All proceeds and other exceptional prizes from this exclusive event will be donated to the Princess Grace Foundation.

The Rose Ball is the epitome of glamour and gathers the greatest personalities for a prestige charity gala attended by numerous celebrities.

Each year, the exclusive event is designed around a distinct theme or trend from a different country by a distinguished designer heading its artistic interpretation.

This year’s ball was designed by the Kaiser Chief himself and friend to Princess Caroline, Karl Lagerfeld.

The guests will fully immerse themselves at the Cuban themed event which will be fabulously decorated in bright & vivid colors, exotic fruits, festive floral arrangements and of course thousands of fragrant roses to create a dreamlike ambience. The Prince is expected to make his grand entrance through a walkway designed to look like sugar cane fields and the guests will be delighted with the vivacious Cuban theme.

Australian Grand Prix 2016

The Australian Grand Prix to jump start the season!

This weekend the season-opening of the Australian Grand Prix starts up again on Sunday March 20th. The first practice session will start this Friday, followed by Saturday’s qualifying hour and finally the race itself will begin this Sunday. All of this years, qualifying drivers and their teams have descended upon the Australian city of Melbourne ahead of this weekend’s race.

Synonymous with glamour and sophistication, Melbourne’s 5.303km circuit was built within one of the city’s most beautiful parklands - Albert Park.  What makes the Australian Grand Prix track so unique are the picturesque surroundings featuring the Albert Park Lake, circuiting over roadways through cricket fields and the combination of high, medium and low speed corners. This track is considered to be quite fast and relatively easy to drive due to the flat, smooth terrain and the consistent placement of corners making it easy for the drivers to quickly adapt to the circuit more easily than other Grand Prix tracks and to achieve competitive timings. Although since 2004, no driver has been able to beat the legend Michael Schumacher’s 1.24.125 record.

The Australian Grand Prix has become very popular amongst the drivers, celebrities and fans alike and the addictive party atmosphere keeps them coming back year after year.
