Celebrity designer to hit the runway

International designer Yolancris, known for dressing A-list celebrities like Beyoncé, the Kardashian sisters and Christina Aguilera, will be dressing the female models for the Amber Lounge Charity Fashion Show.

We are excited about…

It is a pleasure to be part of the Amber Lounge Charity Fashion Show that has raised millions over the years since its foundation in the early 2000s. We are really looking forward to the show and to the whole event. The last show we did was in Paris during the Haute Couture week and this will be a very different scenario and experience.

Working with celebrities is exciting because…

When you design a piece you kind of imagine what type of person will wear it and how they will wear it. But suddenly, a woman with a completely different style from what you had in mind, wears it, breaking all your schemes. But I love it. I find it super exciting to see how the garments I design transform and are transformed by the women who wear them. This sort of happens with all the clients, but not all of them happen to walk around red carpets and I get to see them in magazines and on TV. Seeing the icons of today's music and some of the most powerful women on the planet in a dress that you have made is amazing, it’s overwhelming. I love all my clients, famous or not, but the first one gives you that adrenaline rush.

Advice to upcoming bridal designers…

That they have to dream, but they have to also master the most basic, the core, which in this profession are the techniques. I always advise young students not to only have a designer profile but also a craftsman, an artisan profile. We need thinkers-executors.

Tipsfor modern brides…

Do not wear a costume. Your wedding day is a super special day, but you should not stop being yourself. If you are casual, be casual. If you are a princess, be a princess. If you're sexy, be sexy. When the brides want to defend a design or a style that is not theirs, it doesn’t feel natural. I think it’s more beautiful that each bride is different and special in her own way, when they don’t follow trends that they don’t feel identified with and wear whatever they feel like wearing.

“Yolancris has participated in several charity events and will be working on a program collaboration hand in hand with a Barcelona dressmaking school for the reintegration of women at risk of exclusion. That’s why Yolancris is very happy to participate in such an event in Monaco, with so many friends and clients of the brand, but especially to collaborate in the Amber Lounge Charity Fashion Show.”

St Tropez to Monaco Ride a Huge Success

The Champagne and Oysters Cycling Club’s annual charity bike ride from St Tropez to Monaco, Sunday 28 April, was once again a huge success. Sponsored by Amber Lounge, the event raised over €100,000 for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation to help develop water safety programs around the world.

Over 100 riders took part in the scenic ride along the French Riviera coastal route to Monaco, including former F1 drivers Mika Hakkinen and Thierry Boutsen alongside pro cyclists Thor Hushovd, Veronica Larsson and Calvin Watson.

H.S.H Prince Albert II showed his support and presented the awards to certain participants including:

The Gold Pedal Award: Patrick Torrison, the youngest COCC participant, aged 15
The Silver Pedal Award: Orrett Conner, the oldest rider, aged 69
The Bronze Pedal Award: Mim Stanway

“The event just gets better and better every year. It has now become a firm fixture in the Monaco calendar but we also had participants this year flying in from The Cayman Islands, Singapore, Dubai, Switzerland and many from the UK – a lot of whom have already confirmed again for next year. The support team did an amazing job again this year; without them, the event could not take place.”

Damian Crean, Event organiser.

F1 Renault Roadshow Promotes Grand Prix de France

The F1 Renault Roadshow brought a taste of Formula 1 to the streets of Nice on May 1st. Huge crowds watched with excitement as Renault Formula 1 Team driver Daniel Ricciardo lit up the tyres of his E20 Formula 1 car and the R.S.01 GT.

The Promenade des Anglais turned into a mini street circuit for the day. Onlookers and fans took in the spectacular sight in the pristine location, just hours away from where the French Grand Prix will be fought out on June 23rd.

Daniel Ricciardo, Renault F1 Team Driver said

"It was a wonderful day: we were very lucky with the weather and the fans turned out in huge numbers to attend the demonstration with the E20 Formula 1 car and R.S.01. We made a lot of noise on the Promenade des Anglais!

It was a pleasure for me to put on a show and to participate in my first roadshow with Renault F1 Team. It was great to see the crowds of people and feel the support of the fans ready to host the Formula 1 Grand Prix de France!”

F1 Update: Mercedes’ Brilliant Battle in Baku

The medieval city of Baku delivered an eventful race on its challenging street circuit. In stark contrast to the previous two Azerbaijan Grand Prix, crashes were non-existent during the race, but Qualifying certainly took its toll on some.

Valtteri Bottas once again proved his brilliance as a driver and now leads the 2019 Formula 1 World Championship ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel. Mercedes had plenty to celebrate, not only a 1-2 finish but their fourth consecutive finish of this sort for the season. The two team-mates put on a show for one of the most thrilling starts of the season.

Max Verstappen battled hard to take 3rd and McLaren’s Carlos Sainz earned his first points of the year with 7th place.

Despite a nasty crash into the barriers in Qualifying, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc redeemed himself by snatching fastest lap on Sunday. Impressive overtakes were plentiful with Sergio Perez of Racing Point F1 putting in a strong performance to finish 6th as Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo was oozing with frustration at another DNF.

One thing’s for sure, this circuit leaves very little room for mistakes, making for a nail-biting battle from start to finish. Next up, the Spanish Grand Prix, May 10-12 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, followed by the legendary Monaco Grand Prix May 23-26. CLICK HERE to be there.
